Why Are We Here
To carry out the Great Commission
Matthew 28:18-20
“And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen.”
Who We Are
We are an Independent, Fundamental, Baptist Church, standing for the Verbal Inspiration of the Bible (KJV), the Deity of Christ, His Blood Atonement, Salvation by Faith, New Testament Soul Winning, and Pre-millennial Return of Christ; Opposing Modernism, Worldliness and Formalism.
History
February 23rd. 1975, Bible Baptist Church was chartered as an Independent Baptist Church with 75 charter members. The church was started the previous year as an extension of North Side Baptist Church of Abilene after God gave the vision of a new church in Clyde to Brother Don Greenway.
Brother Larry McAden, who was associate pastor at North Side Baptist, was called as the first pastor in the charter service. This year we mark 47 years of preaching, praising, winning the lost, supporting missionaries, and following the Lord’s leadership.
Brother Hooper has been pastor here since 1997 and under his leadership, the church has built and grown.
